Information about the Ball State University online genetics degree, registering in a technical degree program to develop job skills, and taking free practice tests online. Graduates of online degree programs may go on to attend graduate school, and become successful professionals. Each class is recorded and stored on a server, which allows for instant playback of any class. This is extremely useful for students reviewing for exams, given the ability to replay difficult sections as many times as desired. Online education can open up the opportunity to take difficult courses that won't show up on your transcript, if you so choose. Alternatively, you can complete additional credits for a grade.

Even while you're still a student, you should think about earning a part-time income online. A few simple steps will help you start your own e-Commerce business. The easiest way to start is by authoring a daily blog, and monetize your traffic with Google Adsense. You can drive targeted visitors to your site at a reasonable cost by learning search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. You can also make money with affiliate programs, or charge monthly membership fees, if making certain types of Android OS websites. Just web page design and layout isn't enough, if no-one can find it in Google search results. You'll also need online marketing skills.

Online Courses - MOOCs

Ball State University pagenameGraduates with bachelors degrees earn an average of 60% more than employees with only a high school diploma, which adds up to more than an $800,000 difference over a lifetime. Pursue your career interests, not high-paying starting salaries, and your overall job earnings will reflect the enthusiasm that you bring to your work, increasing over time as you gain business experience. If you focus your prospective degree choice on salary alone, there is the risk that you may suffer early signs of burnout, and be forced to change careers.

Technical training programs are a low-cost alternative to attending college, and you might end up earning a lot of money as a highly-skilled, technical consultant, or by starting your own small business. Massive Open Online Courses are known as MOOCs, and offer a variety of learning platforms, utilizing cloud-based software and Google apps.

An online degree may be just as marketable as a college degree earned on campus. Udemy online learning, a site which allows anyone to build (or take) online courses, is a new startup with backing from the founders of Groupon. Khan Academy now offers over 3,900 micro-lectures available via YouTube. Coursera, another online-learning software platform, has millions of enrolled students around the world. Through MIT Open Courseware online classes, educators can improve development of their curricula, making their instruction more effective.

Engineering Testing and Certification

The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, also referred to as the Engineer in Training (EIT) exam, is the first of two examinations that engineers must pass in order to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the United States. The exam is open to anyone with a degree in engineering, or who is currently enrolled in the last year of an ABET-accredited engineering degree program. The exam is eight hours long altogether, split into two four-hour sessions. The morning session is a 120-question test, while the afternoon session consists of 60 questions and covers more depth. Topics include:

Probability and Statistics
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Material Properties
Fluid Mechanics
Electricity and Magnetism

Results are mailed approximately 2 months after the test date, and students who pass are designated Engineer In Training or Engineer Intern, depending on each state's engineering licensure board. After completing an 4-year apprenticeship, an EIT qualifies to take the Professional Engineer (PE) exam, for certification and licensure. For study purposes, an engineering testing handbook may be downloaded from the NCEES website, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. Advanced Placement exams are offered in a variety of physical sciences, offering you college credit for honors-level classes that you have taken while still in high school. Test yourself with free practice exams online, before visiting the College Board website to register to take your actual AP Tests. If you earn a score of 3 or higher on an AP Exam, you may be able to receive course credits, or advanced placement, when you start college. You must request that the College Board send your official AP score report to the colleges of your choice, either at the time of testing or afterwards, through a score report request.

Create a Part-time Income Online

The goal here is to show you how to design a simple website that gets listed on search engines, and is able to generate a cash-flow within a few months. Sure, you've seen lots of sites telling you that it's easy to make money online, but if it was that easy, everyone would be rich. The truth is that creating a part-time income for yourself is possible, but it's a fair amount of work up-front. If you keep working on it a few hours a week, you can increase your daily earnings as your website develops. The basics are as follows:
Website Design Course
(6 steps to learn)
  1. Get a hosting package. Costs $5/mo, including a domain name.
  2. Website design can be simplified, using templates and RSS feeds.
  3. Write one 900 word article daily, with original photos.
  4. Drive search engine traffic via on-page optimization.
  5. Get approved to Google AdSense, and other affiliate programs.
  6. Earn money, beginning with $1/day, and keep publishing.

Doing business online is one of your best options to raise extra income. Success is governed by two main factors, visitor traffic and sales conversions. How many of the right people can you attract to your site, and how many of those people can you persuade to take a given action? The easiest way to start is by opening a Wordpress blog, and monetizing with Google AdSense pay-per-click ads. Adsense works great, in fact, but you have to understand the concepts, especially how text-ad bidding works, and how the Adsense code interprets your page text. Just making a website isn't enough, if no-one can find it. You'll then need online marketing skills, and the ability to drive conversions. All of this takes work.
